Let me tell you about how I am both excited and terrified at the same time.
For months, and I mean MONTHS, I have been working on video for my blog. I was watching a webinar of Kallie Branciforte’s from Caffeinate and Conquer. She’s an amazing blogger and you should go check her out!
But anyway… She was talking about how people, more than ever, are watching content instead of reading content. She was basically saying that bloggers need to start integrating video into their blogs… like, yesterday.
And because I am a blogger instead of a vlogger, it hits a little close to home. I’m a little camera shy, but I love to write. I’m used to being the one behind the camera, not in front of it.
But I want to get to know you guys better, and I want my content to help you kids more. Sometimes, it’s a lot easier to see someone do a recipe rather than trying to explain it. It’s nice to hear someone’s voice and to almost have a cooking coach in the room with you.
So I took what she said to heart, bought a camera and started recording.
For a time, I was recording daily. I got myself in front of the camera and just talked to it. I told it about my day and through watching playback I learned my quirks and tics.
There are even a few videos I made that almost went out to you all much sooner.
But why did I wait?
Tbh, I was scared out of my mind. My camera isn’t that great, and I don’t have the charisma and charm of the more seasoned YouTube Creators.
And to be even more honest, I’m still kind of scared. I think this is a fear that will wear off in time. But for now, this is where I am at and I just want to be real with you kids.
So what is the video about, anyway?
Good question! Last week, I decided that I was not going to the grocery store, if at all. I go to the grocery store a lot, so this was an interesting challenge. Without any real preliminary shopping prep, I made a week’s worth of dinners. Today is day one! I want to get the rest of the videos out soon, so be sure to watch for them!
Is there something that you would like me to do a video of? let me know in the comments down below!
Cheers dears!
